The Sword Constant Force Tamper delivers calibrated 30lb tamping pressure on every press and stops before you can over-tamp. The horizontal stopper sits perpendicular to the basket rim — when it contacts the portafilter, the press is done. No guessing when to stop, no tilting past level. Same pressure, same depth, same puck surface, every shot.

Features

• 30lb constant force mechanism — calibrated spring delivers the same tamping pressure with every press. Removes the guesswork from pressure consistency across every shot and every user.
• Horizontal stopper — a physical stop perpendicular to the basket rim that halts the tamp at the correct depth. You can’t over-press or tilt past level. The stopper does the alignment work, not muscle memory.
• Ripple or Waffle base — Ripple Base creates a micro-textured surface on the puck with concentric ridges; Waffle Base imprints a grid pattern. Both distribute the 30lb force evenly. Choose based on aesthetic preference — extraction performance is equivalent.
• SUS304 stainless + aluminum alloy + walnut wood — food-grade stainless base and core, aluminum alloy body for rigidity and weight balance, with walnut wood handle on the Walnut Wood color option.

Sword Tamper vs. Flash 2.0 vs. YU-Series

All three are constant-pressure tampers in this catalog. The Flash 2.0 ($37.90) uses a triple-spring mechanism with an audible click at 30lb — pressure calibration only, no depth stop. The Sword ($69.90) adds a horizontal stopper that physically stops the tamp at the correct depth and prevents tilting — pressure and depth in one tool. The YU-Series ($79.90) adds self-levelling on top of constant pressure — the base adjusts on contact to compensate for off-axis hand position. If technique is already solid, the Sword’s horizontal stopper is the most practical upgrade. If you want the highest consistency regardless of technique, the YU-Series.
