The 2-in-1 Adjustable Distributor & Tamper combines a four-blade spiral distributor with a flat stainless steel tamping base — level your grounds and tamp in a single, uninterrupted motion without switching tools mid-workflow. The depth ring is adjustable with calibrated markings: set your tamping depth once and repeat it exactly every shot. At 445g, it has the weight of a serious tool. Available in Black, Silver, and White, in 49mm, 51mm, 54mm, and 58mm.

Features

• Four-blade spiral distributor — four blades rotate through the grounds to level and redistribute them across the basket face before the tamping base makes contact. Distribution and tamping happen in one downward press-and-rotate motion.
• Depth-ring adjustable height — the tamping depth is set via a calibrated depth ring, not a fixed spring. You set the ring to the depth that gives the right headspace for your dose weight, then every tamp stops at exactly that depth. Note: this is a depth-limiting mechanism, not a spring-calibrated constant-force mechanism — tamping pressure is still applied manually. The ring prevents over-tamping past your set depth but does not regulate the force applied.
• 445g weight — heavier than a standard portafilter tamper. The weight contributes to a more controlled, consistent press without requiring as much applied downward force from the hand.
• Precision flat stainless steel base — flat tamping face for even puck compression. No curved or convex base geometry.
• Textured ergonomic grip — slip-resistant surface on the handle body for secure one-hand operation during the distribute-and-tamp motion.

Adjustable Depth vs. Spring-Calibrated Tampers

The 2-in-1 uses a depth-ring system: you set the maximum tamping depth for your basket and dose weight, and the ring stops the tamper at that point every time. Tamping pressure is still applied by hand — consistent pressure requires consistent technique. The spring-calibrated tampers in this catalog (Flash 2.0, Black Edition V3, Click-Sound, Transparent Tamper, White Set) use a spring mechanism that delivers a fixed force (typically 30 lb) regardless of how hard you press — the spring engages at the calibrated weight and prevents additional force from transferring to the puck. If you want pressure consistency without developing tamping technique, the spring-calibrated tampers are the choice. If you want depth consistency (same headspace every shot) and prefer to develop tamping technique with a tool that rewards it, the 2-in-1 is the choice — with the added benefit of the distributor blade built in.
