Good cold brew should taste like coffee, not just something cold to pour milk into. True Stone Coffee Roasters' Cold Brew Blend is a medium roast with chocolate, citrus, and toffee notes, balanced sweetness, and low acidity. It's designed for cold extraction, whether you want a refreshing glass over ice or a richer concentrate for your favorite milk-based drink.
What does it taste like?
Expect a smooth cup with chocolate and toffee sweetness, plus citrus notes that add a little brightness. Those are tasting notes, not added ingredients. The blend brings together mixed coffee varieties processed using the washed method, which removes the coffee fruit before drying.
Cold brewing means steeping coffee in cool water rather than brewing it hot and chilling it afterward. This blend is crafted to hold up to that longer extraction and produce a concentrated flavor that dilutes cleanly.
Two simple ways to make it
Start with a coarse grind and choose the recipe that fits how you like to serve your coffee. The ratios below use coffee and water by weight.
-
Cold brew concentrate, 1:6: Combine 100 g of coffee with 600 g of water. Steep for 16–20 hours, then filter. Start by diluting one part concentrate with one part water or milk, and adjust to taste.
-
Ready-to-drink cold brew, 1:12: Combine 80 g of coffee with 960 g of water. Steep for 16–20 hours, then filter and serve. This recipe skips the separate concentrate-dilution step.
Keep your brewing method consistent for the first batch. If the result is too strong, add a little more water when serving. If you want more body, adjust the next batch's ratio. You don't need to get it perfect on the first try.
Choose your grind and bag size
-
Roast: Medium.
-
Profile: Chocolate, citrus, and toffee; balanced sweetness and low acidity.
-
Coffee: A washed blend of mixed varieties.
-
Grind options: Whole Bean, Fine Grind, Medium Grind, or Coarse Grind.
-
Bag sizes: 12 oz, 2 lb, or 5 lb.
For the cold brew recipes above, choose Coarse Grind if you want the coffee ready to steep. Choose Whole Bean if you have a grinder and prefer to set the grind yourself. Fine and Medium Grind are also available, but coarse is the starting point for this long-steep method.
New to making cold brew at home? Start with the 12 oz bag and one recipe. Once you know how you like it, the larger bags make sense for regular batches. Brew it, filter it, and make your glass your own.
