Cafiza E31 is the standard espresso machine backflush tablet used in cafés and home setups worldwide. Each 2g tablet dissolves to eliminate coffee oils, residue, and buildup from group heads, screens, and filters in both traditional and superautomatic espresso machines. Tablet form gives you controlled dosing without measuring powder — one tablet per backflush cycle. At 100 tablets per jar, it’s a year’s worth of daily cleaning for a single-group machine or a solid stock for a café doing weekly deep cleans across multiple groups.

Can also be dissolved in water to make a soaking solution for portafilters, baskets, screens, and detachable machine parts.

Backflush Instructions — Traditional Espresso Machines

1. Insert a blind basket in the portafilter and add 1 Cafiza tablet.
2. Insert portafilter into group head.
3. Activate brew cycle for 10 seconds, stop for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
4. Remove portafilter and rinse under the group head stream.
5. Re-insert portafilter (no tablet) and repeat the 10-second on/off cycle 5 times to rinse.
6. Pull and discard one shot to confirm no cleaner residue remains.

For superautomatic machines: follow your machine manufacturer’s cleaning program instructions.
