Like the idea of an AeroPress, but want enough coffee to share? The AeroPress Clear XL coffee maker brews up to 20 oz (600 ml) per press and includes a carafe. It’s a larger manual brewer for two servings or one bigger batch, without adding an electric coffee machine to your counter.

The clear Tritan chamber lets you see the brew in progress. Steep ground coffee in water, then use the plunger to press the coffee through a paper filter into the carafe. Your grind, dose, steep time, and dilution are still part of the recipe. Bigger doesn’t mean more complicated, but it does mean using the right XL accessories.

How is the Clear XL different from a standard AeroPress?

The Clear XL has a listed capacity of 20 oz (600 ml), compared with the standard-size brewer’s 10 oz capacity. That gives you room for two servings, depending on mug size and recipe. The included carafe collects the brew before you pour it into your cups.

Which filters does it use?

Use AeroPress XL paper filters. This set includes 50 XL micro-filters to get you started. Standard AeroPress filters are not the correct size for this brewer, so check for “XL” when buying replacements.

What kind of coffee can I make?

Brew a batch of American-style coffee or a stronger concentrate to mix with water or milk. Paper filtration helps keep grounds out of the cup. The result depends on your coffee and recipe, not a guarantee of zero bitterness.

Does it make espresso?

It can make espresso-style concentrated coffee, but it does not produce the same espresso as a high-pressure espresso machine. Choose it for manual filtered coffee and flexible recipes, not as a replacement for a traditional espresso setup.

How do I use it?

Fit an XL paper filter into the brewer’s filter cap and attach the cap to the chamber. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use care around hot water. The brewer itself doesn’t need electricity; heating water is a separate step.
