Coffee and Filter Subscriptions: Never Run Out Again (and Save 10%)

A coffee subscription sends fresh beans to your door automatically, on a schedule you choose, so you never wake up to an empty bag. At Shop Coffee Hobby you can subscribe to coffee beans or coffee filters, pick how often they ship, and save 10% on every delivery. You can change or cancel any time.

I started setting these up because I kept doing the same thing: scraping the last 14 grams out of a bag at 6am, then buying whatever was on the grocery shelf to get through the week. (If you've read my Trader Joe's review, you know how that can go.) A subscription takes that problem off the table.

How does a coffee subscription work?

  1. Pick your coffee or filters. On any product with a subscription option, choose "Subscribe" instead of a one-time purchase.
  2. Choose how often it ships. Coffee can ship every week, every two weeks, or every month. Filters can ship every month, every two months, or every three months.
  3. That's it. Each delivery is charged and shipped automatically, at 10% off the regular price.

Your order confirmation email has a link to manage your subscription. From there you can change it or cancel it. You can also reach it from the Subscriptions link in the menu.

Why subscribe to coffee beans?

  • Fresher coffee, more often. Coffee tastes best within a few weeks of roasting. Getting smaller amounts more often beats buying a giant bag that goes stale before you finish it.
  • No more emergency grocery-store bags. The next bag shows up before the last one runs out.
  • You save 10% on every delivery, not just the first.
  • It's still your coffee. Many of our subscription coffees ship straight from the independent roasters we work with.

Why subscribe to coffee filters?

Filters are the thing nobody thinks about until there aren't any. And a paper towel in a V60 is not a fun way to start the day.

A filter subscription is a set-it-and-forget-it item. A 100-count pack lasts about three months if you brew once a day, so an every-three-months delivery covers most single-brew households. Brew twice a day? Pick every two months, or every month for the 40-count packs.

How often should my coffee ship?

A quick rule of thumb: a 12oz bag is about 340 grams. At one 18–20g dose a day (a double shot or a big mug of pour-over), that's roughly two and a half weeks of coffee.

  • Every week: households with two or more coffee drinkers, or anyone brewing several cups a day.
  • Every two weeks: one person, one or two cups a day. This is the sweet spot for most people.
  • Every month: occasional drinkers, or anyone ordering larger bags.

If you guess wrong, it's not a big deal. Change the schedule from your subscription link, or email me and I'll help.
