PRO TIP: Although Isopropyl (Rubbing) Alcohol, available at most drug stores, can be used in the alcohol burner, Denatured Alcohol from most hardware stores will burn hotter and heat the water more quickly.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

1. Use a slightly finer grind of coffee, around auto drip — experiment to taste.
2. Drop the washable, reusable cloth-covered filter into the infusion chamber with the chain hanging down into the glass siphon tube. Hook the chain to the bottom of the siphon tube.
3. Fill the bottom carafe to the 5-cup mark with hot water and add 5 measuring spoons of coffee to the top chamber.
4. Fill the burner with alcohol, light it, and place directly beneath the bottom carafe. Water takes about 4 minutes to heat — using hot water speeds up the process.
5. Once boiling, water is siphoned through the glass tube and filter into the top chamber. Allow 2 minutes to brew.
6. After 2 minutes, remove and cap the alcohol burner.
7. As the coffee cools, liquid siphons back into the bottom carafe. Remove the top chamber, place it in its convertible lid/stand, and bring to the table for serving.
8. Gently rock the upper carafe until it can be easily removed and placed into its stand.
9. Serve and enjoy.
