If your espresso tastes a little off even with good beans, old coffee oils in the equipment may be part of the problem. Urnex Biocaf cleaning powder helps remove residue from espresso machine groupheads and removable coffee equipment, so yesterday’s buildup doesn’t get in the way of today’s cup.
Where it helps
- Backflush compatible espresso machines to clean coffee oils from the grouphead, valves, and lines
- Soak removable parts and accessories to loosen coffee residue
- Clean stains from batch brewer baskets and servers
- 500 g (17.6 oz) resealable jar; phosphate-free powder with biodegradable ingredients
For backflushing, use 3 g per grouphead with a blind filter, following your machine’s cleaning directions. For soaking removable parts, dissolve 6 g per liter of water; for batch brewers, use 3 g per 2 liters of brewer capacity. Rinse equipment thoroughly after cleaning. Check your machine manual before backflushing, since not every espresso machine supports it.
Good to know: This is a cleaner for coffee equipment, not a descaler and not an ingredient for your coffee. Follow the directions on the jar and keep it out of brewed drinks.
