1,800 Holes. Flat Bottom. Four Extraction Profiles.

The SolarBrew Precision Portafilter Basket replaces the stock basket in your 58mm portafilter with a flat-bottom, rimless design precision-drilled with 1,800 holes at 0.2mm each — more holes, smaller diameter, more even water distribution than most factory baskets. The 58.5mm inner diameter is machined to tighter tolerances than a standard 58mm basket for a more consistent fit in the portafilter. Four basket profiles available, each with a different hole pattern geometry that affects extraction character.

Available in Light, Dome, Snowflake, and Through.

Choose Your Basket Profile

• Light — a lighter, thinner basket wall with standard hole distribution. Heats up faster and responds more quickly to temperature changes in the group head. Best for machines with lower thermal mass or baristas who prioritise temperature stability responsiveness.
• Dome — a domed bottom profile that curves slightly upward toward the centre. Creates a more even puck contact surface across the basket floor and can reduce dry pockets at the basket edges during extraction.
• Snowflake — a snowflake-pattern hole distribution (holes arranged in a radial snowflake geometry rather than a standard grid or concentric ring pattern). The snowflake pattern is designed to distribute water more evenly across the full puck surface, particularly toward the edges where standard grids can leave gaps.
• Through — a through-hole design where the basket is fully perforated edge to edge with no solid rim zone. Maximises the active extraction area of the basket floor.

Note: All four profiles use the same 1,800-hole, 0.2mm, SUS304 construction and flat-bottom rimless design. The difference between profiles is hole pattern geometry and basket wall profile — not hole count or material. If unsure which to choose, start with Snowflake as the most even-distribution option and compare against your stock basket.

Features

• 1,800 precision holes at 0.2mm — more holes at a smaller diameter than most factory baskets. Finer, more even water distribution across the full puck surface. Less channelling risk from uneven flow through the basket floor.
• Flat-bottom rimless design — the flat, ridgeless basket floor makes even tamping easier (no ridges to tamp around) and simplifies cleaning (no rim to trap grounds). The rimless design also reduces the dead space between the puck and the basket wall.
• 58.5mm inner diameter — precision-machined to 58.5mm inner diameter — tighter tolerance than a standard 58mm basket. Reduces the gap between the basket wall and the puck edge, which can be a channelling point in looser-fitting stock baskets.
• SUS304 stainless steel — food-grade, corrosion-resistant, built for daily use.
