How is the Switch different from a regular V60?

A regular V60 lets water drain through the coffee as you pour. The Switch adds a valve so you can hold the water with the grounds for immersion brewing before releasing it. You can also use it with the valve open for pour-over, or combine steeping and pouring stages in a hybrid recipe.

How much coffee does it make?

Which filters do I need?

How do I use the Switch for immersion brewing?

Set the dripper securely on a suitable cup or server, fit a size 02 paper filter, and rinse it with hot water to preheat the porcelain. Drain and discard the rinse water. Close the valve, add your measured coffee and water according to your recipe, and let the coffee steep. Operate the switch to open the valve when you’re ready to drain the brew.

The switch controls the release; simply setting the brewer on a cup is not the brewing step. Follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions and use care around hot water and ceramic surfaces.

Do I need a gooseneck kettle?

A gooseneck kettle helps you direct the water, especially when using pour-over or hybrid recipes. A scale and timer also make it easier to repeat your dose, water amount, and steep time. You’ll need ground coffee, filters, hot water, and a cup or server to complete the setup.
