Hario Switch Immersion Dripper, 360ml

A V60-shaped borosilicate glass dripper with a stainless steel ball valve in the base. Flip the switch and you decide when the water leaves. That one moving part turns a pour-over cone into two brewers.

Two ways to brew with it

Switch open, pour-over mode. Water flows straight through like a normal V60. You steer the cup with grind size, pour rate, and timing, and you get the clean, bright, articulate cup pour-over is known for.

Switch closed, immersion mode. Add grounds and all your water, let it steep like a French press, then flip the switch to drain. Immersion is much more forgiving, because every ground sits in water for the same amount of time whether your grinder is producing perfectly even particles or not. You get a fuller, rounder body, and a paper filter still catches the fines and oils, so it's cleaner than a French press.

In normal pour-over, steep time and drawdown are the same thing. You can't lengthen one without changing the other. The Switch separates them, so you can steep for two minutes and then draw down, which gives you a control lever no standard cone has. That's why it turns up on competition bars and specialty menus.
