The classic Chemex for a bigger batch
This is the 8-Cup Classic Series Chemex: the hourglass-shaped glass brewer with a polished wood collar and leather tie. If you want a hands-on pour-over routine and more coffee to share, its 40-ounce capacity gives you room to make a batch. Add a Chemex Bonded Filter, ground coffee, and hot water, then pour slowly.
Check the details
- Capacity: 40 ounces. Chemex counts one cup as 5 ounces, so “8-cup” doesn't mean eight full-size mugs.
- Material: nonporous borosilicate glass with a polished wood collar and leather tie
- Dimensions: 9 inches tall × 5¼ inches in diameter
- Compatible filters: Chemex Bonded Filter styles FP-1, FC-100, and FSU-100
Choose this one for the wood-collar look; if you prefer a built-in glass handle, that's a different Chemex model. Make sure you have matching filters before your first brew.
