The Donut is LilyDrip’s fast-flow ceramic insert for V60-style and compatible cone drippers. Named for its characteristic center-hole design, it sits in the base of the dripper and accelerates drawdown by shortening the water’s contact time with the coffee bed.

Fast flow means lighter extraction — less contact time pulls fewer bitter compounds, which makes the Donut particularly useful for coffees that tend to brew harsh or over-extracted in a standard cone setup. Dark roasts, robusta blends, or any coffee where bitterness is the main issue benefit from the reduced dwell time. The result is a cleaner, less aggressive cup without requiring a coarser grind or faster pour technique.

Like the Sakura, the Donut is on the faster end of the LilyDrip lineup. The difference is design geometry — the Donut’s center hole creates a distinct flow pattern at the base. Both produce fast drawdown; choose based on which flow pattern suits your dripper and brewing style.
