Barista Basics Stainless Steel Tamping Station
A dedicated tamping station that holds the portafilter suspended with spouts or bottomless basket elevated off the counter surface during tamping. That elevation matters — it prevents the spout tips from picking up stray grounds off the counter between pulls, which is a contamination point that a flat tamping mat doesn’t address. The station cradles the portafilter at the correct angle for a level tamp without having to hold it steady.
Fits 53mm and 58mm portafilters — the two most common sizes covering most home and commercial machines. Stainless steel construction with a rubber base that grips the counter without sliding under tamping pressure. Setup flips for left- or right-handed use.
