The IKAPE Beehive is a stainless steel espresso filter basket for compatible bottomless portafilters, with 51mm, 54mm, and 58mm options. Choose the version that matches both your portafilter and the amount of coffee you normally brew.

I like upgrades that start with a clear purpose. A basket holds your ground coffee while water passes through the puck, so its size and how you fill it matter. This is a chance to match your basket to your recipe, not a promise that changing one part will automatically fix every shot.

Choose your basket size and dose

There are four versions, all in a silver stainless steel finish:

51mm: 16g dose option.

54mm: 18g dose option.

58mm: 18g dose option.

58mm: 20g dose option.

The millimeter measurement identifies the size option; the gram figure gives you a starting point for the coffee dose. The space your coffee takes up varies with roast level and grind size, so check the fit of the prepared puck rather than treating the dose number as a requirement to force more coffee into the basket.

Check fit before ordering

Start with the basket size your bottomless portafilter is designed to accept. A 51mm basket is not interchangeable with a 54mm or 58mm version. For the two 58mm choices, select the dose that suits your usual recipe and check that your portafilter has room for the basket’s depth.

Do not choose by espresso machine brand alone. Basket fit also depends on the portafilter and how the rim seats. Compare with your current basket and your portafilter’s specifications before ordering.

Get to know the new basket

I would start with a coffee you already know. Keep your dose and target espresso weight consistent, distribute the grounds evenly, and tamp level. If the shot runs differently after changing baskets, adjust the grind in small steps rather than changing the whole recipe at once.

A bottomless portafilter leaves the underside of the basket visible during brewing. That can help you observe how the shot forms, but taste should still guide your adjustments. A tidy-looking extraction is useful feedback, not the whole story.

IKAPE Beehive details

Brand: IKAPE.

Design: Beehive espresso filter basket.

Material: Stainless steel.

Finish: Silver.

Intended setup: Compatible bottomless espresso portafilters.

Size and dose choices: 51mm/16g, 54mm/18g, 58mm/18g, or 58mm/20g.

After brewing, remove the spent grounds and clean away coffee residue so the filter openings stay clear.
